Ok, so i have been a bit crap about my blog updating. But here goes. i have been at Mook on a placement for a week now and i feel that i have experienced what it is like to work in the real design world. for the last 4 days at work i have been doing work on flash and photoshop, creating these moving panorama images (QTVRish styleee) for the website of a scotch company. I have been working effectively 9-5 and it is knackering. but i am really enjoying it. Today, we had a briefing for a new project, in conjunction with the scotch site. it was really interesting to be in a briefing with the guys at Mook. It is just pretty much just waht we do at college in the 1st week of a project, except at Mook they do it in 20 minutes. we paired off and discussed ideas and then came together again to share them. The work load is refreshing and i am enjoying what i am doing, but it is tiring spending all day bent over a computer. It is also nice to work as part of a unit...but a unit that ACTUALLY works, rather than the bitchy mess that college groups sometimes, (not always) turn into. Everyone knows what they are doing and has jobs which they get on with and it all comes together. I am sure this isnt ALWAYS the case, but it feels good to work in such an orderly way. even if the jobs are slightly monotonous. The people at the office are really nice and accomodating and i hope i am making a good impression and dont come off too inept. I have no issue with asking for help or advice if needed, (not THAT often,) and they have no issue in showing me something that can help.
Roll on tomorrow.
